The Anti-Hustle Movement......who wants to join my club?

I'm pretty sick of every person doing music. At least, every person doing underground hip-hop. everyone is about that hustle.....all about that grind son!......always trying to push and prod their product into your earhole.......well, I would like to initiate a movement.......the "anti-hustle". I've never been much of a salesman, so i'm just gonna sit back and anti-hustle. I'd rather play Street Fighter and search for rare comics anyway. Who has time to put out mixtapes and promote on various websites? Especially after working 40hours, going to the gym and attempting to be a good husband. If you feel like me, then the movement is for you.

I'm still messing with the mascot, but so far............this works.

  1. Love it! There's nothing worse then seeing a million facebook posts from some half-assed MC trying to get you buy their cookie cutter album on iTunes! The music should stand up for itself. If it makes my head nod, I'll buy the album. If I don't feel it, no matter how many times you post the link, or how many websites you post on, I'm all set. Going to local shows is getting rediculous when every two minutes some geek with Protools is trying to hustle his albums...and he's not even on the shows lineup!

  2. i find it rare that the musical skill matches the salesman skill and music is NOT business. We allowed the culture to become a business. I won't be participating anymore.

  3. I will say that the music itself has suffered from technoligy. Used to be a real honor to record and put out a record. Now any asswipe can record and put up music. GOne are the days of the ALBUM, just singles and hollywood video's. It's sad, for me I know so many real artists who continue to press forward. YOU are correct, it is hard to live a full life and hustle your music or art. It is disheartening to watch shitty ass no skilled hacks cash in on paydays which elude truly talented artists. I make music now because I love it. I have no illusions that i am going to be a star. I make the music for a handful of fans and friends that still love it. I make music because if I don't i will lose my mind. I like the anti hustle, im in.
